CAPABILITIES

HI*TRACK software is used by over 200 hospitals using a wide variety of screening equipment including the Clarity, AuDX, Algo, and ILO88 screeners.

The HI*TRACK software has been designed with input from managers of dozens of hospital-based newborn hearing screening programs to help you operate an efficient and successful detection and intervention program. It gives you the ability to track each infant's status regarding hearing screening, diagnostic assessment, and referral to follow-up services. It also automatically generates personalized letters to parents and physicians and effectively combines data from individual infant records into essential screening program reports. Finally, it can combine data from individual hospitals into regional or statewide tracking and follow-up systems.

HI*TRACK can be used by any screening program that relies on otoacoustic emission (OAEs) or auditory brainstem responses (ABRs) to screen infants for hearing loss. Depending on the screening equipment used, it can be linked directly to the screening software or can function as a stand-alone system.

Special features in HI*TRACK make it easy for people at either the hospital or state level to:

  • Customize the software through user-defined codes and definitions to reflect your program's participating hospitals, audiologists, screeners, and physicians.

  • Establish a basic information database on all newborns screened, as well as an expanded tracking database (including diagnostic data and referral status) on infants receiving assessment or follow-up services.

  • Produce both standard and customized letters that communicate infant screening/rescreening outcomes to parents and physicians.

  • Generate timely reports on outcome data, including numbers and percentages of infants screened, rescreened, missed or lost, referred for further audiological assessment and found to have confirmed hearing loss.

  • Create reports on user-selected variables of interest, such as infant birth weight, and length of stay in intensive care.

  • Develop an archive of epidemiological data specific to pediatric hearing loss, including risk indicators often associated with hearing loss.
